Lost and Found
Our Lost and Found is steadily growing! If your child is missing a water bottle, hoodie, lunch container, or any other personal item, please encourage them to check the Lost and Found area located near the main office. Unclaimed items will be donated at the end of October, so be sure to take a look soon.
Supporting Smooth Morning Transitions
Timely arrival plays a key role in helping students begin their day with confidence and ease. We ask that all children arrive on time and join their class cohort in their designated zone. Late arrivals can disrupt classroom routines—especially as students are still learning the flow of morning entry and settling in.
If your child does arrive late, please ensure they sign in at the office and proceed promptly to class. To support a calm and focused transition, we kindly encourage parents and guardians to keep drop-offs brief. A quick goodbye helps us guide students directly to their classrooms and maintain a consistent start to the day.
If you remain in the front lobby with your child, we assume you are actively engaged with them. In these moments, staff may step away to assist other students who are already in the process of transitioning to class. This helps us ensure that all children receive timely support and direction.
For our Kindergarten families, please make sure a staff member is present with your child before leaving the building.
Thank you for your cooperation and continued support in helping all students start their day successfully!

Just a quick update as we approach 2 weeks into our Terry Fox Fundraising Campaign. At the onset of the campaign, we decided to set a lofty goal of raising $5,000. As of today, we are approaching $2,500 in total donations!!
Thank you for your continued support and generosity. We are still confident that we can reach our goal! A reminder to all that the classroom that raises the most money will earn a free pizza party! As well, if we hit our target, some students will be throwing pies at their teachers as well as witnessing some get their hair cut on stage in front of the whole school!
If possible, we are asking you to donate and/or SHARE the link (or QR code) below to assist in further donations that will help make a difference in the lives of cancer patients and their families today and in the future.
Donations can be made in two different ways:
- Please visit our website, https://schools.terryfox.ca/CataraquiWoodsPSKingston (or scan the QR code)
- From there, you can click on “Donate”
- Then click on “Donate to this school” or “Donate to a classroom”
- If you donate to a classroom, please click on the “Team Name” of which you want to donate.
- From there, please fill out required information.
- Tax Receipt information is also available there.
- Please send in money with your child to school where it will be collected and donated to the Terry Fox Foundation.
Donations can be made up until Thursday, October 9th. Thank you for continuing to uphold Terry's enduring legacy and inspire future generations in the fight against cancer! We look forward to having a terrific Terry Fox School Run at Cataraqui Woods Elementary School!

Walking for Ms. Murphy
As we take part in this year's Terry Fox Walk, we want to remember Ms. Murphy, or as many of us called her, Murph Dwag. Ms. Murphy was a beloved teacher here at Cat Woods from 2019 to 2023. Ms. Murphy is remembered for her warmth, great sense of humour and her dedication to her students. She fought and won her first battle with breast cancer, but when the cancer returned, she chose to keep it private. She didn't want us to see her sick, she wanted to be remembered the was she was: Pretty, bright, funny, smiling and full of life. Her favourite colour was green, so for our Terry Fox walk, let's wear green, walk with a smile, share a laugh, and carry her spirit with us. This walk is for her and for everyone who inspires us to keep going.
Sing O Canada at a Fronts Game!
